As part of PC Construction’s annual Innovation Week celebration, we are so excited to recognize PC’s 2026 Innovation Ambassador – Brandon Rafferty. This award recognizes a PC employee owner who embodies the innovation mindset that is so important to our continued growth and progress in the construction industry.
What sets Brandon apart isn’t a single project or tool. It’s his mindset. Brandon is consistently one of the first people at PC to raise his hand and try a new idea, whether it’s brand new or unproven. He sees the value in new methodologies, and once he finds or develops a new way, he shares it, teaches it, and encourages its adoption. That combination of curiosity, follow-through, and genuine investment in making PC better is exactly what this recognition reflects.
Brandon has been at the forefront of PC’s AI rollout, building more than a dozen Skills now available to others across the company. These Skills turn a general AI tool into something that understands how a company works, helping our teams spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time on the work that matters most: building stronger relationships and better projects for our clients.
Across estimating, preconstruction, project engineering, and several support departments, Brandon has become a go-to resource. He doesn’t just hand colleagues a finished tool. He shows them how it was built, so they can apply the same thinking to their own work. In preconstruction, that means using AI tools to review documents, verify comments, and compare current drawing and specification revisions against prior versions, cutting down work that used to take hours. He’s brought that same energy to other platforms as well, including Bluebeam Max, to support teams carrying heavy workloads.
On a mission-critical manufacturing project, that same approach is playing out in real time. Brandon used AI to help build a risk register for a concrete tilt-wall structure including carefully loading deep context provided by structural plans and technical specifications. The outcome has helped flag areas to closely monitor, sharpening PC’s approach on a technically demanding project. He is also automating a material tracking log tied directly to the project schedule and has become the project’s scheduling champion, helping the team pilot a second scheduling system to determine if it meets the needs for companywide adoption.
Brandon’s drive to improve extends beyond software. He also coordinated and procured a trial order of “cooling” hardhats for our southern teams, giving field crews the opportunity to test new PPE designed to keep them safer in hot conditions.
PC has innovators across every region and segment of our business, and Brandon would be the first to say this recognition isn’t about him. But his willingness to adopt new tools, question the status quo, and bring his colleagues along with him is exactly the energy that keeps PC moving forward.
