Groundbreaking for the Shelburne Museum Perry Center for Native American Art in VermontLast Friday, the PC Construction team joined with local leaders and members of the Shelburne Museum community to break ground on the Perry Center for Native American Art, a new building and integrated landscape designed for the stewardship and care of the Indigenous art housed within the museum.

The Perry Center will house a significant collection that, when combined with the Indigenous art already stewarded by the museum, represents more than 500 items from 389 Tribal Nations across the continent.

The 11,200-square-foot sustainable structure will include galleries, an orientation and gathering space, and specially designed housing space that will accommodate private viewing of items in the collection. The outdoor area provides a lawn landscape terrace with a gathering circle formed of local stone, ceremonial and creative spaces, and native plants and tree species to further enhance the environment. The facility will serve as a welcoming space for Tribal members and scholars to study and engage with the collection.

The Perry Center is designed by Annum Architects and Two Row Architect in close partnership with Tribal Nations and culture bearers whose cultural items are represented in the collection of art.

The entire PC Construction team is excited to kick off construction and bring the project to successful completion for a 2027 opening.Rendering of the Shelburne Museum Perry Center for Native American Art in Vermont
