Who is Brady Fox?

The name Brady Fox has been gaining some traction in Vermont. Currently a PC Construction office engineer on a water treatment facility expansion project in Fredericksburg, Virginia, he graduated from The University of Vermont with a civil engineering degree and started his career in PC’s Vermont office. Most importantly, this is where Brady learned about employee ownership and became an employee owner himself.

From an early age, Brady loved buildings and architecture, which led him to study engineering in college. During his sophomore year, he interned at PC as a laborer. He enjoyed it so much, he returned for a second internship the following summer and, upon graduation from UVM, joined the team as an office engineer. Not long after, he was accepted into PC’s Leadership Development Program to further advance his career.

When he joined PC, he understood the company was employee owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and he understood it was a great addition to his regular retirement plan.

“As a 21-year-old fresh out of college, retirement was far off, and not something I was really thinking about. But there was something I did understand right away, especially in contrast to many of my friends who constantly complained about their jobs: being an owner of the company where you work is just different. Immediately, I sensed a spirit of collaboration, equality and encouragement of growth that stemmed from our shared ownership in the company.”

But it wasn’t until 2023 that he attended the Vermont Employee Ownership Conference (VEOC) and the light bulb lit up.

“Attending the VEOC for the first time opened my eyes to what employee ownership is really about and how it works for the employee owners. I returned to the VEOC in 2024 and am now a member of PC’s Employee Ownership Connection Team, which educates employees on how the ESOP works, why it works, and how we can use innovate ways to think together and further our collaborative culture. I went from not knowing anything about ESOPs to passionately believing they can and should be our future.”

In fact, he feels so passionately about employee ownership that he reached out to local publications to submit an op-ed, such as this one with VT Digger. He continues to advocate for ESOPs as a powerful and successful business model. To say we are proud to have him on our team is an understatement!
