Project Overview
The Res-Tri Complex includes three four-story residence halls – Butler, Juniper and Valcour – situated on a 4.6-acre site in downtown Burlington. The halls total 90,000 square feet and provide 275 student beds to help Champlain College achieve its goal of providing on-campus housing for most of its student population.
The residence halls, which were designed to complement the architecture of the neighboring Victorian-style buildings, provide double and single occupancy rooms with common study and social spaces. Features include geothermal heating and cooling systems, stone entrances and fireplaces, wood floors, student lounges, kitchen facilities, a ski-tuning workshop and bike storage. The exterior boasts a large grassy quad with amphitheater seating and skateboard-friendly fixtures.
Juniper Hall was occupied upon completion in 2012 as part of Phase I; Butler and Valcour Halls were simultaneously constructed during Phase II, staggered by only six weeks.
