Project Overview
This project was a 20 mgd expansion and upgrade of an existing water treatment facility to 100 mgd with future hydraulic capacity of 120 mgd. The scope of work included 30 filter replacements, the addition of 2,500-ppd ozone generation systems, the installation of Actiflo clarification, various chemical feed upgrades and the addition of a new blending chamber.
The integration of design and construction services allowed for the sequencing of construction to ensure full plant capacity during critical water demand periods. The plant operations team was fully integrated into the design-build team and were involved in design reviews and construction planning. All planned shutdowns were achieved without impact to plant operations. The plant was producing water three months ahead of the required completion date.
