Project Overview
Built directly across the road from Elizabethtown Community Hospital’s main campus, this new 13,000-square-foot standalone rehabilitation center consolidates outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology services into a single, modern hub for Essex County residents and visitors.
PC Construction delivered the project in two phases to keep the hospital’s existing therapy services operating throughout construction. The one-level steel and wood-framed building on a slab-on-grade concrete foundation sits on the former site of a maintenance garage and storage structure that PC demolished as part of site preparation.
The new facility houses 11 private treatment rooms, a 5,700-square-foot open gym filled with natural light, locker rooms, offices, and a dedicated cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation area. Patients have access to advanced equipment to support orthopedic, neurologic, sports injury, pelvic health, vestibular, and lymphedema care.
The exterior includes 47,000 square feet of new surface parking with capacity for 100 vehicles, along with new site utilities for electric, plumbing, and HVAC, a new stormwater management system, and a sanitary sewer leach field. The project team also built in infrastructure to support future additions, including EV chargers, a backup generator, and a planned maintenance building.
