Project Overview
This $41.9 million project replaces aged infrastructure and provides additional optimization to the coagulation and flocculation process at the existing treatment facility to more efficiently serve over 400,000 people in the Charleston area. Construction also included modifications to the solids handling system, three flocculation/sedimentation basins, pretreatment chemical systems, post chemical and lime feed improvements, and miscellaneous improvements throughout the site.
The CM at-Risk delivery method was selected to expedite construction and facilitate integration of new facilities with minimal disruption of plant operations, while maximizing the scope of improvements within the project budget.
