Maryland City WRF Expansion

This $32.6 million expansion nearly doubled the waste processing capacity of the existing facility. Work included the construction of a new headworks building with a grit removal system; two new reactor basins with reactor modifications; a new clarifier and rehabilitation of two existing clarifiers; two new filters and the replacement of three existing filters; a new post aeration facility with new effluent line and outfall; and the upgrade of the solids dewatering building and sludge pump station.

This project required close coordination with Suburban Air Park (private airport/FBO) as the treatment plant is only 550 feet from the runway.
