Project Overview
This $56.5 million project included a significant modernization of one of the largest pump stations in the world and the largest pump station east of the Mississippi in the United States.
Work included the complete refurbishment of six Fairbanks Morse engines, double reduction chain drives and axial flow pumping units. Combined with additional improvements, the pump station will provide reliable capacity to move flood waters away from South Florida’s urban and agricultural areas and meet the quality water supply needs of the region.
