Purrysburg WTP

This new 15-mgd water treatment facility provides municipal drinking water to the greater Hilton Head area and reverse-osmosis treated water to a neighboring power generation facility. Features of the project included a river pump station, raw water reservoir and pump station, powdered activated carbon facility, flocculation/sedimentation basin and a four-million-gallon clearwell. Additional features included a 250,000-gallon backwash storage tank, emergency generators, a process water lagoon. The facility was built with future expansion capability to 45 mgd.
