Project Overview
This 18,000-square-foot expansion and relocation project included a 3,000-square-foot addition and replacement of the original 50-year-old unit. The new facility, located adjacent to the fully-functioning birthing center, eases coordination between labor, delivery, pediatric, NICU and postpartum providers and patients.
The project included a combination of new construction and a complete renovation and reconstruction of an existing patient floor to house 22 single-bed rooms and two semi-private rooms with additional extended stay rooms. Work included mechanical tie-ins to the patient floor below, including the 3,000-square-foot addition directly above the main hospital pharmacy, which remained in service during construction.
Work also included assisting the hospital’s planning staff with drafting concepts of operation to maximize best practices derived from the new construction.

Our Clients
As far as I’m concerned, a project isn’t done until the space is occupied and the people moving in are happy … that’s what transition planning and ‘Day in the Life’ exercises help facilitate. These services provide great peace of mind for those of us responsible for ensuring safe and high-quality patient care.
