South Burlington, VT – PC Construction has been named Mid-Atlantic Contractor of the Year by Engineering News-Record (ENR), a leading trade publication in the engineering and construction industry. This is the second time PC has been recognized by ENR for its regional performance; in 2022, ENR named PC Construction the Southeast Contractor of the Year.
While PC Construction has been headquartered in Vermont since its founding in 1958, the company manages complex building and infrastructure projects all along the Eastern seaboard. Since entering the Mid-Atlantic market in 1972 to service strategic water and wastewater infrastructure needs, PC Construction has delivered more than $4.5 billion worth of work, including more than $500 million in design-build work at the nation’s largest wastewater treatment plant – DC Water’s Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment facility.
Several recent landmark projects in the mid-Atlantic region helped earn PC Construction this recognition, including the $269 million WSSC Water Piscataway WRRF Bioenergy Project in Accokeek, Maryland; the $142 million Motts Run WTP Expansion and Rehabilitation Phase 2 and Raw Water Pump Station in Fredericksburg, Virginia; and the approximately $256 million Arlington Re-Gen Biosolids Upgrade in Arlington County, Virginia.
The company’s technical achievements, demonstrated through these projects, as well as the deep partnerships its teams have built with clients and industry partners, and its longstanding commitment to philanthropy, all factored into the award.

The employee-owned company increased its design-build contracts by 75% company-wide over the last three years. In the last year alone, PC Construction’s total revenue has increased 45%. Strong population growth in metropolitan areas like Washington, DC and Atlanta has created an urgent need for new and improved water and wastewater infrastructure, which is an area in which PC Construction has developed particular expertise, and for which it is earning national and international accolades.
