DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Expansion, VTDoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Expansion Ribbon Cutting, VTAt PC Construction, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It’s the moment when months of planning, thousands of hours of craftsmanship, and a shared vision finally come to life.

Last week, we joined our partners at AAM 15 Management and Smith Buckley Architects to celebrate the official completion of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel expansion in South Burlington, Vermont. This project wasn’t just about adding square footage; it was about enhancing one of the region’s premier hospitality hubs to meet the needs of today’s travelers and the local community.

The four-story, 47,000-square-foot expansion adds 66 guest rooms and four executive suites to the hotel campus, increasing capacity by over 20%. Guests in the new wing can enjoy a seamless transition from the original hotel via a new 400-square-foot sky bridge.

Beyond the aesthetics—which include over 65,000 hand-laid bricks—this project is a showcase for sustainable, forward-thinking construction:

  • Energy Efficiency: The facility is one of the first in New England to utilize Italian-engineered Ephoca AIO heat pumps in every room, providing high-efficiency electric heating and cooling.
  • Renewable Energy: A massive 4,250-square-foot rooftop solar system was installed to help power the new wing.
  • Environmental Stewardship: The site features newly constructed gravel wetlands to manage expanded stormwater control, protecting our local ecosystem.

Constructing a major expansion on a tight, active hotel campus is no small feat. Our team navigated an urban site that required “just-in-time” material deliveries and intense coordination with the City of South Burlington and the Vermont Agency of Transportation.

We are incredibly proud to have played a role in this hotel’s evolution. This expansion ensures that as Burlington grows, its hospitality infrastructure is ready to welcome the world with more rooms, better technology, and a smaller carbon footprint.

Congratulations to the AAM 15 Management team and to all of our partners who helped bring this project across the finish line!
