My Internship with PC

| By

This summer I am interning with PC Construction in an office engineering role at The Treehouse at Spruce Peak project in Stowe, Vermont. I’ve learned many things throughout the last few months and am proud of my first major accomplishment – Procore Certification. We use Procore on the job to look at drawings, create RFIs and submittals and communicate with subcontractors. The project manager on this project was a great mentor for me. Even though she was busy every hour of the day, she still made time to answer my questions and guide my learning. I was also fortunate to work with a patient and supportive office engineer who helped me learn all the details associated with completing RFIs and submittals.

As a senior at The University of Vermont, I’ve spent a lot of time in the classroom and was able to translate those skills into more hands-on experiences. I am particularly thankful for the problem solving skills I learned at UVM that allowed me to be an active team contributor in the field.

Overall, I chose PC because they have so much to offer – employee ownership, a work-life balance and people who embrace new ideas to achieve the best project outcomes.

Hussein is a Civil Engineering senior at The University of Vermont. He is also a member of the Vermont National Guard, serving our country. We are proud to have him as part of the PC team!
