Last week I joined a few of my fellow PC employee owners at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of New Hampshire/Vermont’s annual safety recognition BBQ where PC proudly accepted two awards – First Place Over 300,000 Hours and Most Creative Safety Program.
The awards recognize safety leaders in the region that go above and beyond to ensure workplace safety resulting and positive safety outcomes. This recognition is a testament to our safety culture and our dedication to sending each of our employee owners and subcontractors home safely from our projects every day.
In addition to our extensive safety program, we are always looking for new ways to engage our employee owners and emphasize the importance of safety. Over the past year, we have incorporated additional measures and programs focused on reducing the risk of injury for new employees. These tools and processes further teach, guide and support new employees specifically during their first three months, engraining them in PC’s processes and safety culture. This targets an especially vulnerable time in a new craft employee’s career and helps reduce the risk of injury while they learn new processes and expectations.
