On Friday, the first CCTA bus pulled up to the platform at the new downtown transit center in Burlington, Vermont. This exciting moment marked the final stretch of construction before the transit center officially opens to the bus route and its passengers this summer. We were also pleased to welcome the mayors of Burlington and Winooski during their stop at the project as part of their multi-modal tour of the city promoting alternate means of transportation.
The new 10,250-square-foot transit center will offer amenities such as a climate-controlled indoor waiting area, restrooms and a covered boarding platform. A new secure, on-site break room will accommodate driver needs between shifts and include a kitchen, quiet room and restrooms.
