On June 17, the City of Lewiston school department held an open house for the new Robert V. Connors Elementary School. To commemorate the completion of construction, elementary students from the Longley and Martel Schools walked from their current schools and merged together as one at the entrance of their new elementary school. From there, they were taken on tours of the state-of-the-art facility they will attend this fall. The screams of excitement were almost too much to bear! The parking lot was full the remainder of the afternoon as the general public popped in to share in the excitement.
I think it is safe to say that there will be a lot of very excited children at the start of the next school year!
